My first session of 2011 was to photograph this precious newborn baby boy. His mama was on top of things and we had talked about the importance of photographing within the first 10 days in order to get the best possible images. I believe he was 10 days old exactly during his session. He slept so wonderfully for us which is one of the best reasons to photograph so quickly after birth.

This little man met up with me as we tried to dodge the supposed rain on Saturday. While the sun came out as soon as we drove up at our meeting place we used the light to our advantage and were able to capture all the personality this little guy shared with us. This precious little girl was only 4 days old. She did an awesome job letting us move her around and curled up just like we wanted her to. Having newborn images within the first 7-10 days is ideal as they are much more likely to sleep and allow us to get the images you desire. As you can see she woke up towards the end but was very content to just sit and look at me.

I just can't seem to catch up! It's a problem I am grateful to have. However, we were able to squeeze this session in on Sunday afternoon because we got a cloudy day. I know their grandma was praying for clouds! We have tried to schedule before but weren't able to swing it. I'm so glad we did this time. This sweet family was a blast to spend the evening capturing priceless moments. We met at a nearby state park that the frequent regularly and it was an awesome new spot for a portrait session. This little guy is going to be quite the charmer. He smiles ALL THE TIME! I have been blessed to know him since he was 4 days old (see here) and he has been so happy at every session! He didn't care that it was FREEZING cold at his 3 month session, and the same was true for his six month and nine month session, so I shouldn't be surprised one bit that his one year session was more of the same!
